Frequently asked questions
What will my website and email address be?
When you purchase a website through us you automatically get a .co.uk domain name, and you get to decide what this
address is to be. The simplest are often the best e.g. www.davidslater-hypnotherapy.co.uk.
You can also have as many email addresses as you like; these are based upon the website address
e.g. appointments@davidslater-hypnotherapy.co.uk.
Can I modify my website myself?
If you wish to carry out updates on a weekly or monthly basis, PPS can send you your own FTP login and password details which will allow you to login to your FTP webspace. We will also explain how to modify the htm files yourself and upload them using FTP. You will need a minimum of computer know-how to do this.
Alternately, if 5 updates a year is enough for you, our hosting and maintenance service (£29.00 per year - Free the first year) will do all this for you. All you do is send us an email with the updates. See Hosting and Maintenance to find out more.
How do I access my new emails?
The emails that you choose with your domain name (e.g. appointments@davidslater-hypnotherapy.co.uk) are
automatically redirected to the personal email address of your choice (e.g. davidslater@hotmail.com). In this
way all emails sent via your website, including requests for further information, arrive directly in
your usual inbox.
What information comes with Site Statistics?
Webstat site statistics, which come free with all PPS websites, will tell you how many "hits"
you get daily, weekly and monthly, as well as which pages are accessed. Only you have access to these figures
through your own personal login and password at webstat.com. Find out more at
the Webstat website.
