Effects of Reiki
Reiki is an ancient form of healing believed to have spread through Tibet, China and India a few
thousand years ago. It was rediscovered in the late 19th century in Sanskrit teachings from the days
of the Buddha, by Dr Mikao Usui, a Japanese Christian minister and theology teacher.
The word Reiki is Japanese, where "Rei" means "Universal" and "Ki" means "Life Energy", the same as the Chinese "Chi" or the Indian "Prana". Reiki is the vital life energy which flows through all living things and which can be activated for the purpose of healing, working on all levels - spiritual, physical, mental and emotional.
Although it has its roots in ancient Buddhist teachings, Reiki is not a religion or a faith system. All that is necessary is the will to heal and to be whole.
The Usui System of Natural Healing came to the West around the middle of this century through the dedication of Mrs Hawayo Takata. Reiki is helpful, wherever there is a will to get well, in treating any disease, even chronic ailments, and will complement and increase the effectiveness of other kinds of treatment and medication. It is a completely safe, natural and holistic method of hands-on healing.
Most people think of healing as just getting rid of physical symptoms but Reiki can be applied to all aspects of daily life. You can heal plants, animals, even the earth and send Reiki to resolve a situation. Reiki is healing energy in the truest sense.
A Reiki treatment affects each individual in a very personal way. The results are determined by the needs, which are not always obvious, of the person being treated. Some of the most common results of treatments are healing (wholing), energy amplification and balancing stress, toxic and emotional releases, cleansing and an increase in awareness and creativity.
It is a great tonic and if you are well, Reiki will help you stay that way.
