Reiki treatment
Receiving Reiki treatment is a very simple, non-intrusive and extremely powerful process. A treatment
session lasts between one to one and a half hours but specific areas can be treated in 20-30 minutes.
It is usually done with the recipient lying down, fully clothed and covered with a blanket, on a massage
table, a bed or even the floor.
The therapist gently places her or his hands in various positions over the body enabling the recipient to draw the energy where it is needed. Each position is held for a few minutes. There is no pressure making it ideal for treating the very young, the elderly, pregnant women and those recovering from surgery. Most of the body is treated, not just an isolated area, although a little Reiki is better than none if time is short. This enables the energy to go right to the source of the imbalance and not just the manifesting symptoms.
Treatment can also take the form of absent or distant healing.
During a treatment you will generally feel a pleasant sensation of warmth or gentle tingling in the area being touched. As the energy comes into balance, stress and tensions are released and there is a deep sense of relaxation and a feeling of well-being. You may even fall asleep.
Reiki restores and harmonises your life energy and increases the body's ability to heal itself. It can be given as a deep relaxing therapy or more intensive treatment concentrating on specific areas of disease.
How and How Much
You can approach Reiki from two different angles. The first is to have treatments from a Reiki Practitioner. The second is to learn to use Reiki yourself.Reiki is not an instant fix like an Aspirin nor is it the be all and end all. Reiki works on many different levels of a person. So that you can get a feel of what Reiki is all about I work in the following way.
Treatments:
Treatments are given on a donation basis. I have a pot which is emptied once a week. All I ask is
that after you have had your treatment you pop what you can into the pot. This is my sole source of income,
so many thanks. I treat this way in order that people can have a treatment when they need it
rather than just when they can afford it.
To learn to use Reiki:
We hold weekend workshops throughout the year. As I keep the
numbers per workshop small (usually 4 people), please book early. For more information, click here.
